Psoral

Psoral is a medical device for a daily skin with mild form of psoriasis. It is applied directly on the skin and has a local effect.

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease. The most common form is Psoriasis vulgaris, which causes the formation of psoriatic plaques on the skin.

Plaques are a result of an immune system attack of healthy skin cells, which begin to multiply faster and move towards the surface. On the skin surface uneven red spots are formed, covered with white flakes, and are usually accompanied by inflammation and itching.

Flakes can appear anywhere on the body, but are more frequent on the scalp, elbows, knees and lower back. Reasons for formation of psoriatic lesions are related to deficient cell regeneration cycle which can be caused by chrnonic inflammation in the deeper layers of the dermis and upper layers of the epidermis, abnormal differentation of epidermal keratinocytes, abnormalities in the skin cell growth cycle and in the natural process of epidermal regeneration.

Psoriasis tends to go through cycles, which means that flaring phase lasts for a few weeks or months, then subsiding for a while or going into remission. The first symptoms can occur at any age but are more common in late adulthood.
Psoriasis is not contageous

Main ingredients

Dermatial main ingredients are microencapsulated urea (4%) and subtilisin (0.5%)

Urea

is formed in the human body as a final product of the protein metabolism. Due to its hygroscopic properties, it can attract and bind a large amount of water in the upper layers of the skin and thus increases hydration.
Since urea can have irritating effect (causing redness, burning sensation) when applied at higher concentrations and directly on the skin, microencapsulation technology has been used to prepare Dermatial. Microencapsulation is a process used to entrap active compound (core) with another compound by forming a wall around it. This acts like a barrier between the core and external environment (skin) causing slower release of urea from the formulation.

Subtilisin

gives the gentle exfoliating feeling, cleanses the skin by removing damaged and dead skin cells from its surfaces, excess sebum, and impurities from the pores.
